Who we are
Kiwi Calendar is a free, ad-supported reference site at kiwicalendar.co.nz. It publishes New Zealand public holiday, provincial anniversary day, and school holiday dates from official sources.
What we collect directly
We do not run our own analytics, do not require accounts, and do not store personal data on our own servers. Pages on kiwicalendar.co.nz are static HTML served from a content delivery network. We do not set first-party tracking cookies.
If we ever add an email signup form, we will list the provider here and explain what is collected and how to unsubscribe.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of third parties to host the site, serve ads, and protect against abuse. Each one collects some information about visitors as part of providing its service. The main third parties are:
- Cloudflare: hosts the site and provides edge caching, DDoS protection, and bot mitigation. Cloudflare may set short-lived security cookies and processes IP addresses to detect abuse. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for details.
- Google AdSense: serves the ads that fund the site. AdSense may set cookies and use device identifiers for ad personalisation, frequency capping, and measurement. EU and UK visitors are shown a consent prompt that controls whether personalised ads are served. You can adjust your Google ad settings at any time.
- Brevo (if and when an email signup is added): handles double opt-in confirmation and transactional email. Email addresses provided through a future signup form will be stored on Brevo and may be processed in the EU.
Cookies
The only cookies set on kiwicalendar.co.nz are those set by the third parties listed above. We do not set first-party cookies for analytics or tracking. See the cookie policy for the full list and their purpose.
Your rights
If you are in New Zealand, you have rights under the Privacy Act 2020, including the right to access and correct personal information held about you. Because Kiwi Calendar holds no personal data on its own servers, requests are best directed to the relevant third party (Google for AdSense, Cloudflare for security logs, Brevo for any future email list). You can also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have equivalent rights including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and the right to object to processing or withdraw consent. The same routing applies: contact the relevant third party for data they hold.
To contact us about a privacy question, see the contact page.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when material changes occur, for example when a new third-party service is added. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
